You know how some people choose their “word of the year” every January?
I didn’t do that. Not right away at least.
It wasn’t until mid-February that I realized what my word for 2024 is.
It happened unintentionally. I didn’t plan on having a word.
THE WORD IS REBRAND.
We talk a lot about rebranding in business, but what about the power of rebranding your personal life?
(maybe for you it’s a stepmom rebrand, rebranding how you approach stepmom life?)
There have been several times in my life when I’ve said,
“I don’t want to feel this way anymore.”
This happened a lot in the first few months of 2024.
I wanted more
I craved more peace
Friendships no longer felt aligned
My nervous system felt like it was constantly activated
My anxiety was acting up again.
I was ready to level up.
I opened my journal and asked myself some hard questions.
What do I want for my life? How would the best version of me show up?
I realized that many aspects of my current reality weren’t aligned with where I truly wanted to be.
Questions like:
How do I want to feel after spending time with others?
Are my current friendships aligned with that?
How do I want to feel in my home?
How does the best version of me
dress, walk, and show up every day?
What does she do every morning?
What does she wear?
How does she interact with her husband?
How does she show up as a mom or stepmom?
What are her boundaries?
How does she respond when she’s triggered?
What does she talk about?
How does she respond to toxicity?
What does she like?
What does she do before bed?
E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!
Every day, I aim to show up as that person.
It’s a process.
A worthwhile one.
You in?
If so, save this list so you can journal it out yourself.
